- Don’t seek the title. Be great at what you do and the title will seek you.
- Let your title come as a result of your work.

We are blessed in every way.

So, why is it so easy to find reasons to gripe, complain and moan 364 days a year? Then Thanksgiving Day rolls around and we muster up our best attempt to spend a few hours thinking of things we are thankful for.

Thanksgiving Day is barely over and we’re standing in line at 3:00am on black Friday griping, complaining and moaning about the 87 people who pitched tents to be in line before you.

Instead of one day a year for Thanksgiving, I propose we turn one day a year into Gripe, Complain and Moan Day. That would give us 364 days to talk about everything we are thankful for, including what Thanksgiving Day actually symbolizes. Sounds like a good idea for a Facebook group.

How exactly do you spend your “one day of thanks?”

Happy Thanksgiving!

How you start is how you finish.
______________

Every day I get up and look at the Forbes list of the world’s richest people. If my name is not on the list, I go to work.
______________

The will to win is important. The will to prepare is vital.
______________

Rich people have money. Wealthy people have time.
______________

The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.
______________

There’s no easier money to make than the money money makes.
______________

Goal begins with GO.
______________

It’s easier to do a job right than to explain why you didn’t.
______________

I hope one or more of these inspirational sayings helps motivate you in the right direction today. Have a successful day!

As a business owner, the most important place to spend time and money is in marketing. It’s not in doing all the daily grind and functions of working “in” your business.

STOP seeing yourself as a provider or salesperson of your category of products or services. Begin to recognize that you are a “marketer of” your business that offers and sells your category of products/services.

“MARKETER OF” – The person (you) who fully understands and sees the importance and benefits of marketing is THE ONE who will ultimately achieve financial stability as a business owner.

ACTION:

In the next 57 minutes, write down and act upon what you CAN DO and what you WILL DO to begin working “on” your business. Schedule a designated block of time each day or each week that you will focus on working “on” your business.

Seth Godin on “Leadership”

Leadership is scarce because few people are willing to go through the discomfort required to lead. It’s discomfort that creates the leverage that makes leadership worthwhile and valuable.

In other words, if everyone could do it, they would, and it wouldn’t be worth much.

It’s uncomfortable to stand up in front of strangers.
It’s uncomfortable to propose an idea that might fail.
It’s uncomfortable to challenge the status quo.
It’s uncomfortable to resist the urge to settle.

When you identify the discomfort, you’ve found the place where a leader is needed.

If you’re not uncomfortable in your work as a leader, it’s almost certain you’re not reaching your potential as a leader.

When you’ve had enough, can’t tolerate your job any longer and are ready to quit, perhaps you could try one last thing.

Quilt instead.

You’ve got nothing to lose, right? I mean, you’re going to quit anyway, so what’s the worst that could happen to you?

So quilt. Spend hours every day integrating the people you work with into a cohesive group. Weave in your customers as well. Take every scrap, even the people you don’t like, and sew them together. Spend far less time than you should on the ‘real’ work and instead focus on creating genuine connections with the people you work with. Including your boss. After all, once you quit, you’re never going to see them again anyway, right? Might as well give it a try.

Careful… it might change everything.

The onset of great ideas can often be described as an “aha moment”! And, it is oftentimes this moment, along with the creative and witty forces behind it, that sparks the launch of a new business endeavor. However, it is critical to remember that it takes much more than this initial “ah-ha moment” to fan into flame a successful, growing business.

When we consider the unheralded companies of old who broke out of mediocrity to achieve dramatic, remarkable, good-to-great corporate transformations, we clearly see that there was no miracle moment. Instead, a down-to-earth, pragmatic, committed-to-excellence process — a framework — that kept each company, its leaders, and its people on track for the long haul.

In addition to this framework, a well-designed, clearly-thought-out marketing strategy to brand each of the companies and to communicate their value to consumers was an essential component to their long-term success.
